ALL SHOWS CANCELLED IN JUNE 2020

These are uncertain times. Social life for many of us will mostly be indoors. Because of the measures the government announced to prevent the coronavirus from spreading, Luxor Theater also had to close its doors. Shows will not be played and employees work from home. We understand the measures completely though: health is now the most important thing.

You bought tickets to a show in June 2020 in Luxor Theater. To our regret we have to announce that this show can't be played.
The Dutch Government announced in their press conference of May 6th that from June 1st theatres may open their doors for guests to a maximum of 30 persons (including staff). For our venues with 1500 seats (new Luxor Theatre) and 900 seats (old Luxor Theatre) this is not a workable situation. Of course we can understand the announced measures, because health is the most important thing right now, but we miss you and our artists!

About your tickets
Rescheduling all cancelled shows, is a complicated puzzle. For Luxor Theatre alone we have to find new dates in our next theatre season for almost 180 shows. Nationwide over 150 theatres are looking for new dates for thousands of shows.
At this moment we are researching how we can bring theatre in an 1½ meter environment. Unfortunately we can't tell when or how shows can be played. That's why we ask you for your patience.

Luxor is joining all Dutch theatres in their policy:

  • We try to postpone all shows and find new dates to play them. At this moment however dates are not set.
  • Unfortunately we can’t take back tickets or swap them for Luxor vouchers.
  • When new dates are set (or when no dates can be found), we will e-mail all buyers with more information about the new dates of compensation

We hope to welcome you right after this crisis for live theater in the old or the new Luxor Theater. Till then you can enjoy online theatre, because all performers are creative as usual but at home. If you'd like to work on your Dutch, please take a look:
